Held at 20:00 hrs on Thursday 17th December 1998, immediately after the Annual General Meeting. In the Library Board Lounge of the State Library Building, Swanston Street, Melbourne.
Kate Lance was elected Chairperson.
The Chairperson noted that, as 12 current members of the Society were present and 33 valid proxies, there was a quorum present for the meeting. The Chairperson welcomed all those in attendance. The Chairperson noted the items on the agenda to those present.
`25.2 A quorum is constituted by 30 members or half of the total number of members, whichever is the lesser, being present at the meeting. '"
Kate Lance spoke to this agenda item and indicated that confusion was caused at the first AGM in Sydney on the 27th November. The change as proposed in this agenda item was for the purpse of clarifcation rather than substantive change.
It was RESOLVED that the Articles be changed as set out in the agenda item.
"That the President of ISOC-AU from November 1997 to November 1998, Geoff Huston, be declared the Immediate Past President of the Society until such time as the new President has resigned, in appreciation of his contribution during his period of tenure."
It was RESOLVED that the Geoff Huston be declared Immediate Past President on the terms of the agenda item.
Kate Lance gave thanks to Stuart Hall of Vicnet fo arranging the use of the facilities at the State Library for the Annual General Meeting and the General Meeting.
Led by Greg Watson, the floor and those present from the Board gave thanks to Kate Lance for her efforts.
Meeting closed at approximately 8:45pm.
